Psychological, Developmental and Psychoeducational Testing
Dr. Lyons assesses children of all ages for concerns such as learning, attention, developmental milestones and emotional. A typical battery of testing will include measures of cognitive functioing, academic skills, attention, memory and language. If needed Dr. Lyons can also visit your child's school to gain more information about behavior in the classroom. Often times families gain insight into their child's behavior after understanding their learning style. A full report will include extensive clinical impressions and recommendations for your child. Recommendations will help guide your decisions regarding education, extracurricular activities and emotional growth.
Groups
Often times families can gain support from others who are experiencing the same concerns. Our groups are run on an ongoing basis and include topics such as improving social skills for children, a drop in group for new moms, a father's group, a parent group to swap ideas about child development and a wellness group for teen girls.
The Girls’ Social Group has been quite a success! The girls have really loved coming on Fridays. Some of the activities have included having a tea party, making beaded necklaces and bracelets, having a scavenger hunt, and busting a piñata, all the while working on communicating with others, getting to know others, and building self-esteem! We can’t wait for the weeks to come.
We have decided to continue the Girls' Group for grades 6 through 8 during the winter. The Girls' Group will take place every Friday from 4-5:15 pm. For more information regarding this exciting opportunity, please contact us at 773-244-3151 or email us at Info@draoifelyons.com.
